Scottish West Coast marinas - strong winds

Any reports on how Scottish West Coast marinas are fairing with the recent strong winds? (E.g. Craobh, Dunstaffnage, Oban/Kererra).

I think they're out of trouble as of this morning, lots quieter now. However the Clyde is getting a battering today..

Monday & Tuesday do not look good. Very strong westerlies -with a bit of North - and possibly blizzard conditions

It was filthy weather this morning! I was thankful Serendipity is tucked up in her cradle.

I noted the quite a few elected to remain afloat this winter, even after previous winters fiasco. But there have been a lot of improvements, and they moved all the wintering boats as far east as possible (by the diesel's new location).

You can see the wind at Rhu here... http://www.quaymarinas.com/Marinas/RhuMarina/Weather.aspx

and looking at the records (lower left), it shows 53knots gust on 29/1/13.

I was awoken by the crazy wind last night id guess 80mph
but im a bit lower...Campbeltown
if i was on a mooring unless sheltered i would be worried!
think ill have to be in a sheltered marina for piece of mind

High winds here in Largs this morning as I looked out. Ferry off and road full of seaweed but the marina was just fine. They were working to add 2m to the breakwater with no problems in these conditions - makes you wonder why it's needed. Boats in the marina and on the hard looked ok. Wind is now way down.

I would agree that winds are strong - but not as last year - they were exceptional - which made all the difference.

winds def nothing like last year, we incurred a lot of damage last year on our mooring which is normally very sheltered and we are (either bravely or foolishly) staying on the mooring again this Winter so every gale forecast gets me nervous but last Jan 3rd was exceptional (along with the one in December and the one in May - not a good year!)

I also think the seas were exceptional then too, extremely high tide where our boat was that have not been repeated since

Spring cannot come soon enough!

Campbeltown Loch

Actually just trying out the new web site as this is my first try at posting since the big change.
Very happy lemmings surfing in the loch on the Springbank. I am allowed to make remarks about the Wee Toon being from the indigenous population myself.

Are you likening the indigenous population to lemmings? Why are they all in the loch?

Just been to Craobh and all seems fine, no ill effects from last week's blow.

Loch Fyne had a lot of ice from Inveraray north, but it was a balmy 5 degrees in the marina; the new access road is a joy to drive :)
