Dear Mssrs Morgana & Full Circle

I believe that you are heading north this weekend to sail in other waters and presumably taste the local fire water.

Having just looked at the weather forecast for Essex / Suffolk over the coming weekend and made a comparison with that of Jockland can I ask that you go there more often?

Looks like a warm weekend at last! Whoop!!!

I'm doing my bit too - I'm going to Wales (to do a bit of sailing I hope /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif)

At this rate the first sailing I'll do round here is to the Bradwell BBQ /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Last week I sent off for a Sailing in Scotland brochure - it's on my list of things to do. Charter there or sail there yet to be determined. Have a great time chaps.
 
Morgana and I are carrying out the preliminary expedition for our 'Attack on the Arctic' adventure by going to Scotlansd in APril.
We know the hardships involved and are selflessly trading a trailblazing path to benefit mankind. Or at least the local brewery anyway. Not to mention the Lorne Sausage vendor, or the chosen distillery of choice, Aberlour.

We are setting up a cultural exchange programme as its only 48 quid return flight. Pick each other up from the respective airports. Class act if you ask me.
 
We have also armed ourselves with a wide range of Dulux colour swatches and will be testing the claims of our Kilted Brethren that their waters are pure and blue.... we have a similar set of brown swatches for when we return home.....

one assumes that you intend to visit gods country,deep blue water and thats just the stuff that comes from the sky

whereabouts is your intended area of exploreation?

What marina are you sailing out of? just watch the forecast,there can be some big rollers come off the Atlantic ,try to tuck in behind the Isle of Bute if it gets a bit rough,very scenic area,where are you aiming for?
 
Back in 1980 my elder brother and I chartered a Trapper 500 from Rothsay for a week in late March / April in the School Easter Holidays. He was about to fail all his A levels and I take my O Levels. Perhaps if he'd spent less time sailing he would have passed!

Just dug out my old log - 'various things were found to be suspect - ....... and one shroud held down with a nut and bolt (which didn't fit).'

We had a great time, the weather was good too apart from one day when we were 'storm bound' in Tarbert!. I have a picture of Inchmarnock and Arran with snow on the mountains and we were in t shirts.

Troon Marina - up to 30 feet £4 per night!
 
its all very scenic around there,if the weather is kind you cant beat it,the marinas have gone up in price,i paid 28.00 a day at crobh marina,and there are lots of anchorages.

The clyde cruising club have a pilots guide that is very difinative,it covers most of the west coast
