So which is the "Reputable Yacht Charter/Hire Company" in the West Coast of Scotland for sale at an asking price of £545,000? Advertised in a national paper today.

I saw one recently advertised for a sailing business for sale on the Isle of Skye.... but I cannot remember where I saw the ad.
Possibly Yachting Monhly in the small ads.

I believe Isle of Skye yachts at Armadale is up for sale.

But they are not based in a marina with their own office.

I hope who ever buys it can keep it going and expand the business, there has been a lot of investment in water borne leisure facilities recently and it would be nice to see a few more boats out with the Tobermory Triangle.

The advert says East Ayrshire. East? I would have thought that would be inland, so I looked at my road atlas, and there is a South Ayrshire, a North Ayrshire, and an East Ayrshire, but I can't find a West Ayrshire. It seems that East Ayrshire must go all the way to the West.:D
Anyway, that would point to Largs or Troon etc.

A "gross profit" of £118k on turnover of just £181k sounds awfully good - a gross profit of 65%. Running costs of just £63k can't cover much in the way of boat depreciation, repairs/renewals, marina fees and office rents let alone advertising and salaries
Suspect real Profit Before Tax is somewhat slimmer

"The business enjoys “prime berths” in what is regarded as one of the best marinas in Scotland. The marina is very accessible with excellent transport links to the rest of the UK and Europe. The company also has its offices situated at the marina, which is ideal for greeting customers and from a marketing point of view."

Can only be Muir. Top bloke and a top firm IME.

How do you define the "Tobermory Triangle"? And what is it? Is it related to the Bermuda Triangle? I can't think of any boats chartered out of Tobermory, other than skippered charters.

Hairy Helen, she owns the chip van, only in so far as you can get lost in it.

Obviously concerned about after the referendum.

Most of the charter and visitor boats in this area chunter up and down inside a triangle from Jura to Oban and Tobermory.. This is slowly changing as more facilities are built and the adventurous head out of the sound of Mull.

Caution- if going beyond Ardnamurchan, there be dragons, few pontoons and moorings...
