Just returned from checking boat at Troon. Bus shelter outside marina destrored in one gust!! Most boats seem to be coping well but some tied up with string!!! can't see them surviving the night, saw one gust touch 95mph on the office anenometer as the wife's Punto started to levitate!!! Forecast for worse by midnight with high tide about 0100.

Hi

Here in Bangor the wind seems to have eased at bit as it was blowing really
hard earlier this evening. But i think the worst is still to come. Lets hope there
is not to much damage.

Hi
Its blowin hard up here in orkney now, jist been down the pier and around,
Scapa pier and beach taking a pounding, one motor boat up at the slip has blowing over on to the fence, jist hope the fence holds it, if not it could damage
yachts in the sailing club yard.
hightide at about 23.30 so don't no what will happen then.

Just been down to Stornoway harbour. Not a pretty sight. Steady 70kts, gusting 90kts. Wouldn't go onto the pontoon, even with a harness and lifejacket. Lifeboatmen all kitted up and ready to go, just in case. Hope they have a quiet night.
