Bought one of these fancy "watches" that buzz. Perfection - 100% result. Kids went from retching to reading in 5 mins.
Experiment - took the battery out. Kids started to look green; given "watch", happy again.
Placebo?????????

In a liferaft last year, I had Kwells which I swear by and I was sick - no booze and following the instructions as usual, my colleague had the watch thing, he doesn't usually get sick....but when he felt himself succumbing to seasickness he noticed the "watch" had come loose. He tightened it up and was fine.

Snooks - the only time I ever have ever been queasy was in a liferaft - but it was blowing F11 so I had an excuse!
Joking apart - the "watch" things do WORK for the kids. The best thing about them is you can start to use them after you are feeling sick. Kwells and the rest do seem to do some good provided you take them before hand, but you try persuading them...
At £50+ (for the F4 version we have) they seem expensive but compared to the over-the-counter price for pills, they pay for themselves quickly. Advice - definitely try them.

You don't have to, but they can be expensive if you're sailing for a week using a new patch every day! or you could buy 12 kwells for £2.99

True. On the other hand, I have never need to use more than one, even for extended trips. Seems my body gets accustomed to the motion while my stomach is being kept under control for these first three days.

And 1 Kwell last 6 hours, not 12, hence the instructions "Take 1 tablet every 6 hours as required" Just enough for your average day sail :)

Ah. Worth knowing. I had a generic which was once every twelve hours.

Never had a problem with drowsiness, just a constant dry mouth, when I have a dry mouth I know they are working, when it starts to wear off I know to either take another tablet or sit on the helm till we get there :) then once we're there I can crack open a beer :D

Oral hyoscine knocks me out, but the patches don't - which is another reason I like them.

Like Chris I OD on stugeron for it to work - i find that 2 tabs the night before a long passage and 2 every four hours does the trick nicely
