Wondered if anyone has a boat in the Scillies this weekend, what it's been like ? Reflecting on the zero winds when I was there 3 weeks ago !

Up to 45 knots in Plymouth today.

Er, doesnt look like you spent too much time on that page, especially the bit that says 'Real Time Wind and Weather Report'. Take a guess what that does.
On my pad it gives reports from buoys etc if I put the cursor on the arrows. The panel on the right only gives guesses as you put it. It works better on my PC.

When Presented with windfinder, a careful Examination will reveal a Diagnosis enabling the Cure of the OP question in graphical form. The longer term Prognosis of future climatic condition is useful too.

I was there until Thursday morning, when we arrived in the cove 2 weeks earlier there were about 25 boats anchored, when we left there were 3 of us. What did surprise me was that we passed a number of yachts heading to Scilly on our way back.
If we had stayed we’d have been in St Helens pool, we’ve been there in some rough weather in previous years and it’s always been comfortable.

thanks thats interesting - brave chaps you passed !

Storm in a teacup . . . . I wasn't here having sailed off to Plymouth for the weekend, but now back and asking around it blew a bit in the night but otherwise not too bad. I think it was worse to the east.

Harbour is still fairly full, several anchored up in watermill cove last night . . . . . . . . . . . business as usual

Is it true all the public showers (Porthcressa and the Harbour Quay) have all been closed due to the water shortage? What is a visiting yottie to do? Eeek!

I did warn that we were a bit short of water even with the desalination plant working . . . . . . can't confirm yet if the Quay or TIC showers have been turned off although the TIC outside beach showers have.

If its true I guess I could make a killing by charging fellow yachties for a shower at my place.

Clearly this rule will not affect the French crews
