So that decides it...
In future I'll speak loudly and slowly in English.
The trouble seems to start when the foreign person insists in speaking English also but gets it wrong.
Example 1 - asking if I can get a taxi to the marina from the supermarket in Lezardrieux: "We will take you to the marina. You must pay €70" (much later I realised she must have been trying to say "...if you spend €70"
Example 2 - Internet cafe in Las palmas: "one thousand pesetas per hour" what was actually meant was "one hundred..."
And that's before we even start on the American walking down the street in his vest and pants to buy a rubber.
p.s. does anyone know any real French prowords?
