School boat project

This is more up my street........kiddies school project building a boat out of recycling.My plan is either milk cartons or 2ltr pop bottles so now need suggestions for a nice design? Easy to make a raft but i think cat or traditional boat shape would look better.
I guess about 12ft long.

How old are the kids? Careful how you assemble it, if you use glues etc. then you're actually going to end up putting the milk bottles in landfill after the project because it might make them unsuitable for proper recycling which is actually very efficient on this type of plastic. I'm assuming of course that in typical school fashion the craft isnt expected to last much beyond the lesson/term?

Kids are 8.I doubt glue will matter.Roung here all sorts of plastic goes in the recycling together including glue/mastic tubes.
