Dont know if this is the right place to post this but im sure somebody will have an idea.

If somebody(a non-EU national) gets a visa, say for Holland which is part of the Schegen agreement, and they arrive, spend some time visiting the sites and then cross to say Germany for a while,Do they need to return to holland to leave the EU or can they have the exit stamp made in Germany. In other words do they need to leave via the same country they arrived in? (why is my life so complicated? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif) If ive posted this in the wrong place then please forgive me,But im at a loss about this.

As long as the countries they are visiting are what are called Schengen States then it doesn't matter where they exit from, as long as they have a "multiple" visa and not a "single" one.

I don't think Holland is a member state either.

If you let me know which passport they hold and which countries they are visiting I could let you know by Monday which visa's are required.

thanks for the info,I get confused easy in my old age,I suspected that it wouldnt be a problem to arrive in one coutry and leave via another, otherwise whats the point of the agreement? But,why do they need a multiple entry visa to do this?

You can get either single entry or multiple, it depends on the issuing embassy what they will let you have. If you get a single entry, once it has been used thats it. Returning or entering a non Schengen State i.e the UK will have used it. So if you want to go from country to country and maybe travel outside the Schengen areas, then a multiple entry it has to be.

This explains it better.....
The Schengen Office

As I said earlier Tug, if you let me know the nationality of the passport and which countries you want to visit I'll let you know by Monday what requirements they should have.
