We are off to Vlissingen next weekend. My (oldish) Dutch Pilot Guide says that the weren't bothering with them much when it was written.

Can anyone tell me the current situation?

Yes, still required. I have been boarded (2011) in Breskens by the marine police and asked for my "crew list". Customs not interested. HM at Breskens will take your 3rd copy.

I've just taken blank forms to fill in if anybody asked. Three long spells there and nobody asked to see any documents. Perhaps I have been lucky. Maybe going straight to Middelburg bypasses a port of entry.

We were visited by customs and then (independently) the police in IJmuiden earlier this month. Both, very polite, pairs of officers took down the details from our Schengen forms, which had been sent in from the marina there on arrival. I don't suppose it would have mattered much if we hadn't done them, but it only takes a few minutes to fill in the form and stick it into the requisite box, so it's not worth not doing!

Are the French not interested in Schengen forms ? If you first cross and enter France (Gravelines or Dunkirk) have you not then entered the Schengen area.So if passing inshore along the coast would you technically also need a Belgian form completed and a Dutch form completed when you landed in those countries ?
