Schematic diagram for VP/VDO Tachometer with hours counter?

Posting the link to the Raymarine Service manuals http://www.ybw.com/forums/showthread.php?385035-Raymarine-Service-Manuals-online reminded me that I'm still looking for a schematic diagram or service manual for a VP or VDO Tachometer with hours counter. Anyone got one?

I think it may be possible to reset the original hours counter, in my case to a higher value. Yes, I know about the other way ...

Note: this is the service manual (with schematic) that I need, not the operation or calibration manual.

Slight drift - I had an elderly rather eccentric olde-worlde neighbour who, although devout, had failed in his bid to become a church minister.
Nevertheless, he was appointed as a lay reader and supported the church in any way he could. Part of his support was on sponsored bike rides and he was very proud of his achievements.

Unfortunately, his cyclometer gave up the ghost so he bought a new one. Naturally the reading was zero and, knowing I had a few machine tools (at home not in my factory), he asked if I could increase the reading to match the retired one.

I could see no way of opening the device without destroying it. I thus resorted to winding it on my Myford lathe. Progress was exasperatingly slow so I went to the highest drive ratio possible and started spinning again.

The sequence between warm (it was hand held), smoke and melted unit was impressively short.
