Schatz clock repair

I have a Schatz quartz ships bell clock and the quartz movement is erratic and I think needs replacing.

I have searched high and low for a Schatz service centre or even Schatz company HQ but with no success. Can anyone recommend a clock repairer who might be able to handle this?

I was given a Schatz mechanical ship's clock a few years ago and it has been back for repair three times. According to the last but one clock maker said that part of the mechanism was made of steel and it had a tendancy to rust. So not ideal in a marine environment!

It has packed up again and has been with its current repairer for 3 months.

Suggest you google your local clock repairer. Hopefully he will be a bit quicker than my chap.

Schatz started making clocks in 1881, but only made ship's bell clocks after WWII. They went bankrupt in 1986.

Nauticalia have them in their current catalogue! It is QUARTZ like mine.
