There was a crane in the yard today, it took a 48Phantom off a trailer and put a 38 Targa on wow, scary,

Naughty, they're supposed to have a strap or retainer between them or tie them back to a cleat on this size of boat. Either lazy or thought it would be ok.

Even more scary is the boats being lifted off the container ships' deck into Southampton water.

When my boat came back from Tortola we had to be on board when she was lifted in, the crane driver 50' above us was directed by deck hands to lift us over the side, another 100' drop into Southampton Water, we had to remove the back stay and hope the engine would start once lowered in as they were pretty quick to cast us adrift.

thankfully the engine did start, bit of a strugle to reconnect the backstay before the mast fell down though!

Absolutely correct , where was the H & S Officer when he/she was actually required ?
