Scary experience today.

I would suggest VaSi Marine, nobody come close on controls, nothing fundamentally wrong with Glendinning, however I have come across some real screwy installations, for example Cummins specify motors being wired permanently hot, some 'experts' change that set up, other 'experts' fail to understand significance of 'idle validation' switch, seen too much bonkers stuff to make a judgement at this stage.

VaSi marine on board today! I have to say that I am very impressed by their speedy response.

Rob, suggest you also check out the Cummins warning system a friend had an engine overheat and melted exhaust because he was unaware the water temp had risen as it only showed on the LED display in the tacho and it was not the one on display(as you have to cycle through them ).

No Cummins engine or other manufacturers engine for that matter is fitted with a water flow alarm as standard.

If you have overheat due to loss of raw water cooling flow, alarm threshold is set at 205F 96 Degrees C. Exhaust will cook long before engine block coolant reaches anything like 96 Degrees C and be assured audible alarm will sound.

I bow to superior knowledge. Friend claimed he heard nothing from the alarms and smoke was billowing from the lazerette when he called the mayday. I know that exhaust temp probes would have been much better as a early warning.

Towed in a new sportsboat with my 40 year old boat, it's only problem was that its engine computer said engine (volvo) start sequence dissabled. Alongside I put a power lead between battery and fuel pump shut off, shorted battery to starter moter and it ran.
