Anybody else got one of these???

Just got into work; email from felix@rya-online.net.

Scam letter; content includes:
"Therefore I need to transfer this money to an account and
invest part of the money. Since the law of Netherlands
prohibits a refugee (asylum seeker) to open any bank account
or to be involved in any financial transaction, this is why
I am seeking a genuine and reliable partner, whose account
this money can be transferred, hence this proposal to you.
You have to understand that this decision taken by me is a
very big and brave one, and it entrusts my future in your
hands, as a result of the safe keeping of this money. If you
accept to assist me, all I want you to do for me, is to
assist with arrangements to claim the deposit from the
security company's office here in The Netherlands, as it has
now been transferred from Johannesburg, South Africa to
their branch here. The company will be legally informed of
you representing me."

Tried to call the RYA immediately - answer phone; can't leave then a message or an e-mail. Office is open at 9:00am.

You should forward it with all its headers to abuse@rya-online.net

All providers should have an abuse@ email for this purpose, they probably do not want a million phone calls !

rya-online.net is simply an internet service provider, like hotmail or tesco.net etc. No point in ringing the RYA HQ about scam spam!

One of thousands going around, based on the Nigerian 419 scams ( a number of which operate out of the Netherlands now). Nothing the RYA can do about it, just delete it.

Yes! I received one yesterday but did not open it as Mr Norton said it carried a virus. I am with BT and never get any spam at all, but I had a look at the new Bt -Yahoo set up. As soon as I logged on to Yahoo the spams started arriving and that came with it. Gone back to outlook express sodded Yahoo off problems solved.
