SC5616 - a disappointment

Thanks. Before pestering them about the Loch Ryan gap, I would have to check whether they have already addressed it.

I have to admit that my Admiralty Folio was current at the time, but has not been updated since and is at least one version out. Had been thinking about updating, but the boat is somewhat further to the East at present.
Does anybody have a current Clyde Folio to check

We used to anchor off Camus Rory, on the north side at the head of the loch, every spring. Quite a reasonable anchorage, on shallow sand, and brilliant for hill walking/climbing. There are one or two other places up there where we have anchored. The only bay that we tried which didn't work was one on the south side, not far past the entrance narrows. It was deep, with a shelving stony bottom.

Was less than funny at midnight, no electrics (no GPS, no plotter, no depth, no autopilot, fading lights) at dead low water springs and a major ferry route ... to discover the gap in the paper charts in a place had never been before ;-)

I had the same sort of issue with an Imray chart when heading into the Scillies at 2am I noticed the small lettering telling me to switch to the BA chart, which wasn't on board. Wasn't my boat but the owner did buy the Imray chart in good faith.

Heading south down the loch at 5kt under double reefed main only in F6/7 with no plan of the marina and no response from the harbourmaster on VHF or any of the three published phone numbers was ... concentrating. My master stroke was ti run aground just inside the marina entrance for long enough to get sorted out. That is my story and I am sticking to it.
