What a lousy programme this (Saturday) afternoon.

I was thinking of going this year but there only seems to be VERY big motor yachts, the odd sailing yacht and a tatty canoe. (Sorry I forgot the short piece on the new Sadler (so short I can't remember its designation).

The two presenters weren't much cop either and didn't seem to know much.

Every year they do the same and make the show look like it's only for "lottery" winners or to show the latest kids toy. I went on Friday and loved it, plenty to see (even some new products). As Sadler owners had a good look at the new 29 an liked what we saw, nice transom door, tiller steering and for us ditch crawlers it's got bilge keels and the agents couln't have been nicer, not like the suits gaurding the gang planks to the boats on milioneer row. Definately reccomend a visit.

Don't be put off by inadequate TV coverage... worth a visit...

Jorinda,

Possibly being in the market for a new boat I also liked the Sadler... and I couldn't agree more.. the agents couldn't have been more helpful if they wanted too... full marks to them for customer service....

Quite a few other boats that looked nice.... especially liked the Comet 36, but a bit steep on price for me... 33 could be interesting.... and the Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 32 pleasantly suprised me... much better build quality than I was expecting.... and again Clarkes and Carter, the agents... extremely helpful and actually seemed interested in helping me... often not my experience at previous boat shows with some agents when I have had the kids in tow.... (if only they new how much the kids and wife are part of the decision making process!)...

have you ever seen...

a tv boat show preview that didn't include a piece on the biggest boat in the show (always a sunseeker)?

i recall one where they featured an 80-footer owned by nigel mansell with much emphasis on the cost and opulence. i thought of that when in st maarten where the superyacht dock had a row of a dozen or more that could have used an 80-footer as a tender.

We are going tomorrow, and will be looking for coastal oilies as well as other stuff. Any tips on where to look?

itv were right

Complainers are coming from the wrong direction. They are not in the business of serving viewers. Their responsibility is soley to their shareholders. Excepting their legal obligations, the directors could be in court for doing otherwise. To do this they must make the maximum profit which requires that the programmes are as cheap as possible whilst keeping the right audience for the advertisers. They do research. Draw your own conclusions.
