Going to the boat show Fri/Sat I normally park in the new shopping car park but over 2 days is going to work out expensive!!

Did used to park for nowt with disabled badge in the old municipal car park.

Anyone know anywhere, not too far from the show?

Disabled parking is available outside the front entrance, spaces are limited though it seems, so best to be early.

To beat the queues tickets are available from the West Quay information centre (lift available), they cost us £8 each on press day (2 disabled badge holders and 2 helpers).

Once inside go to gate "C" for your bridge avoidance passes.

Have fun
Dave.

Liesure World, the multiplex cinema near the show have a very large car park and an all day ticket is just £3...... but don't tell anyone or there won't be any space next year!

Free Parking at Gosport, then get Hi-Speed Ferry

There is a special high-speed ferry (35mins trip) operating from Gosport ferry terminal to the Town Quay, Southampton (5 mins walk from show). They are selling a combined ferry and show entrance ticket. It's a very civilised way of arriving and departing. There is a link for details on the SBS web site.

Thanks for that info, in the danger of sounding stupid, how do I get outside the front entrance by car, I've never attempted it before, I don't know my way round Southampton at all, apart from to the new West park Quay shopping centres. Is there a through road from there?

From the M271 follow the signs for the boat show untill you come to the Sunseeker by a roundabout (You will reach here whatever way you come in) there are signs for badge parking from here. Basically its turn left and drive up to the gate across the road, it will be manned, just show your badge.

If you have a disabled ticket make yourself known to the stewards and there's no walking on the stones in the queues.

There is also a small carpark near gate "F" (I think), the gate by the old pier, next to the ferry terminal. You do a left by the tapas bar at the lights and its ~100 yrds up on the right. Also free for badge holders. Gate "F" is also a good entrance as it will get you straight to the pontoons but its not ideal if you are aiming for a trip on one of the boats.

P.S. The tappas bar does a great squid in choritzo sauce (Tenderest squid i've ever had).

Dave.
