Has anybody heard whether the show has been good for trade? I haven't heard any reports from the marine mortgage lenders this year, who previously seemed to have provided the best indicator of the strength of demand for new boats. I remember last year that Fairline reported selling a huge number of boats - I've heard nothing this year. Any idea's?

Glad subs were up but it's a bit annoying when you get offered a gift if you sign up at the show whereas if you just renew your subscription then all you get is ignored!!

A friend of mine was working on the Pearl stand and they were very pleased with the level of interest and orders taken for their products so I suppose at least somebody had a good show

It was suggested to me by someone on the MBM stand that I cancel my subs and take out new one to get free gift.

I just had visions of two mags arriving each month and was suspicious of a catch....

I ordered at the show and I thought the range of motor yachts available to view was superb. Most of the dry stands were dissapointing though except for one of the book vendors. Even the RYA lady was unable to explain relevant courses in detail.

Spoke to an acquaintance on the Ancasta stand on the second day of the Show and he said they'd already flogged (i.e. agreement signed, deposit received) a couple of £1/2 million Beneteaus with a third in the pipeline. Whether they sold any more after preview day is another matter, of course.

But business was good, he seemed to be saying.
