Just been back and finished.
Mainly interested in Medway but must confess that to date our experience of the Thames during our brief visits has been very positive indeed.
Friendly approach from Thames mooring chap at Runnymeade explaining the new set up.
All locks were manned, except one, all staff were attentive and helpful and no problems with either depth or trees from Teddington to Cookham.
Noticable increase in number of vacant spots at "honeypot" locations ![/QUOTE]

I've just done Teddington to Oxford and noticed no improvement in mooring availability. Far too many bloody narrowboats.

It's the 'bloody narrowboats' that keep the River in some state of use after all other craft are tucked up in their marinas.
The trouble is - if that is a 'trouble' that they are mostly through traffic.

I've never spent a night in a marina and I use my cruiser all year round(flow permitting).
NB's are in the minority down here. Unless.you want a public mooring for the night.
