Saving Ryan\'s Privates

From YBW.Com News

The BBC are enlisting an Army of young yachtsmen to re-enact the Normandy Landings of World War II. If you are male, aged 18-24 and fit, then they want to hear from you.

Volunteers will take part in a four week rapid training exercise, based on the training that the D-Day forces undertook 60 years ago. This will be filmed and shown as part of the BBC's coverage commemorating the D-Day landings.

If selected you will be taken straight to a training camp from 16th February - 14th March for training by the Army the Royal Navy and the Royal Marines. Veterans from the D-Day landings will be on hand to offer advice and recount their own ordeal.

Contact Ben Crichton on 020 87527554 or ben.crichton@bbc.co.uk by Friday 6th Feb for an application form. The deadline for forms to be returned is Wednesday 11th Feb.

Do you think there is any chance they would include a Home Guard Unit for the older Scuttlebutters.Who wants which part ?

Capt Mainwaring : ?
Sgt Wilson : ?
Corporal Jones: ?
Fraser: Jimi or Parahandy, or Claymore etc
Godfrey: Twister Ken
Walker:Stephensails
Pike: ?

Well, TCM is a natural for Mainwaring.
There are several young males around this College whom I'd really like to shoot so I might get them to enlist
Then I'll phone up to see if they need any Germans.....
