Hi there,

Have seen this boat advertised - but have absolutely zero knowledge of them.

Apparently Italian - and Outboard does appeal as most 24' boats of this ilk are inboard (petrol mainly / the odd diesel).

Questions for anyone with knowledge of them.

1) Build - are they well build or cheap rubbish?
2) Weight - towable behind a suitable 4x4?
3) Performance - is 200HP enough - can't seem to find anything on what one weighs
4) Cabin - what I CAN research on google suggests a mid-cabin under the cockpit - but the photos don't suggest it has one?
5) Ride in chop - good like a UK boat or poor like a US boat.
6) Fuel Burn - The Supercharged Verado's - good on fuel like a modern 4 stroke or rubbish like an old 2 stroke or somewhere in the middle - I predict 50 % use on rivers and so on, so don't want the plugs to foul up so want a 4 stroke really, the other 50% on the coast so want sensible fuel burn at a 22kt type cruise....

Any other views?

Thank you

The supercharged Verados were pretty bombproof. They made the same engine from 2004 to 2020 or so with minimal changes throughout the run. Later generations had better fuel economy than the early ones. Fuel consumption is nothing like a two stroke. It’s a modern fuel injected engine.

They are very quiet, at idle you really have to look at the cooling water tell tale to see if it’s running.

Coils go but they are cheap and trivial to replace. The fuel lift pumps go but again easy to replace (maybe improved in later generations).

You have to drain the engine oil before replacing the impeller but it’s not the end of the world.

The Smartcraft controls etc are very reliable.

Very good motors imo

I had one for 3.5 years with the 200 verado.

Reasonably well built

Towable but probably on the maximum limit for trailers. 2.2 base plus 300 kg for engine and probably another 300 kg of under declared weight. It's probably 3 tons. I towed it once with a 4wd Toyota. Never again.

Max speed 33 knots, 35 if you use silicone one foul release system.

Not bad in solent chop, it's not like a Cranchi but equally not a Merry fisher slammer.

Fuel burn at 20 knots was 30 litres/hr.

Full chat was 85 litres. 210 litre tank.

Went from Hamble to Brixham and back ok.

Not suitable for river use unless you can get the oil temperature up. Mine had a history of emulsified oil necessatating frequent oil flushes.

Where is the boat and name?

Rear cabin only on a few UK imports. Mine just had the V berths.

PM me if you want more info.

Thank you but this one only has the V berths too so I'm probably going to leave it anyway - I'd like the 4 berths really

I'll post the link to it
