Got one as a spare on the back of my little old tub. (forty plus longshaft). Noisy, smelly and some people think ugly although I think it has it's plusses. As long as you don't let the petrol go stale in the tank, don't let the petrol evaporate from the carburettor bowl and feed pipe thereby making the oil mix too strong the little wonder fires up on about the second pull. The ignition is almost indestructible and I have never seen a bigger set of points on any other engine. Good old British gear.
Thanks for the offer but the Seagull is in good running condition and will only be used apart from the occasional test run if my twenty five year old Honda B75 plays up. You will probably get a buyer as these remarkable little engines are used all over the World. Try visiting the Saving Old Seagull website. at my last visit they were paying a fortune for second hand Seagulls and bits in America and Canada.
yes, i have also received a smack to the face before now - and i learnt the hard way - dont get you thumb between the flywheel and the petrol tank when its running
