Satellite TV on board.

We liveaboard in Jersey and bought the B&Q Ross set up for £70. It is attached to the rails and even though we go up and down about 4m we don't get loss of signal, only when we had 40kt winds and the boat was rolling a bit. We are really pleased with it. Even get the HD channels.

UPDATE!!!

Thanks for all of the advice guys. Here's what happened.....

Went to Maplins & took advice from assistant there who was quite adamant that Satellite would not work. Persuaded to buy an aerial with built in amplifier..... rubbish reception, ghosting and breaking up etc.

Went back & bought the Satellite system in a box & a Satellite finder - http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=48737
Spent about an hour assembling it, sorting it out etc. Clamped dish to pushpit (which is fortunately facing South(ish). Used http://www.dishpointer.com/ to find where to point the dish (over the 5th pontoon from the end of the opposite trot.). Fiddled around with the dish and finder - which I didnt really understand - and then noticed Eastenders was playing on BBC1 which I had tuned the set and box into !!!!!!!! Result.

Telly been on now for about half a tide (3hrs) and on a fairly windy night and perfect reception 99% of the time. Boat is wobbling a bit but doesn't seem to upset reception too much!! Even scanned for more channels and found far too many !! :D:D:D
