[/ QUOTE ]Yes, I think he is trying to say hydro polishing = pressure washing. That is a somewhat steep price though. See what you can do with some haggling.

You might like to visit www.cruising.org.uk and consider joining the Cruising Association to extend your network of information. They have a rep in Cagliari (also Alghero) and some members overwinter there and, once you are a member, this should assist contact with marinas. Should also help you greatly in Greece and elsewhere. I would persist in trying to reserve space in Cagliari. Concerning flights it all depends where you want to fly to and how much you are prepared to pay. Cagliari is as good as anywhere in Sardinia and there is plenty of info on airlines websites.

Unless it's changed Frederico has (I guess) 30 boats on one pontoon with his office at the end. Also there was a nightwatch as well so as secure as you can get. Alghero is a lovely town but very touristy with loads of mediocre restaurents with insufficient kitchen capacity. Given time you will seek out the good places though. Natives are very friendly and very independant from Italy.(use the local courtesey flag!)
Buy some really good springs for your warps because of the harbour swells.(we found these cheap in Sardinia)
Have a great time...we did and give our regards to Frederico from Jan & David Jensen
ps there is a little pic of Alghero from our boat on our website
pps You will probably know but just in case Ryanair fly to Alghero

Just had an email from Max at Marina del sole. He has given a price of 1100 euro for 4 months ashore inc. lifting. We are quite happy with that & will probably feel a little more relaxed if she is ashore & locked up. We are flying back to Newcastle or as near as possible so hopefully we can fly from Cagliari airport.
