It's getting worse every year. Seen a lot of it sailing across to the Windies. Gets round keels, rudder, log any water powered generator.
Some of the weed fields are vast and can be seen from passenger planes. Collects all sorts of gash too.

I think the subtext to this YT find is “ we’re not buying a boat today”The problem might have cleared by the time you get there in your Snappie.
Not even an Oliver Lee, Anderson 22 sailing machine that is so fast and appendage free that it skips over seaweed before the rest of us are out of our beds

If you are bored at sea, get a Boat Hook and haul some of that weed aboard. There are some very weird little creatures usually sculling about amongst it .

I know weeds are growing like mad on land; the likes I have never seen before.
About to buy some glyphosate weed killer even though it is WELL documented as causing cancer ( I will provide links if pushed).
I find it odd that farmers spray crops that we eat with it.

We seem to get quite a lot of it in the Baie de Saint Brieuc. It is a real pain with the twin rudders on my boat, as I’m sure we pick up a load more than you would with a single rudder.
There was a French university study to see if it could be harvested before it hits the beaches in the Caribbean, then put into an anaerobic digester as an energy source. IIRC the project foundered on the high levels of heavy metals in the residue in the biodigester, making it unsuitable for use are fertilizer. A shame, as it might have provided a neat solution to the problem.

They don't spray crops that we eat with it they treat the land / growing weeds with it before planting the crop. Glyphosate decomposes very quickly on the earth it's a very specific weed killer. Like many things if you ingest it it won't do you any good though.

You need to do more reading - there's a lot of blether all over the interweb about it being carcinogenic, very little actual evidence of it actually being such, in humans, in reasonable usage scenarios. It's persistence in soil, and the effects that has on the quality of the soil are a far greater issue.

What are its affects upon the soil you mention? Any links? Your post counters post 11.

I did some of my research in an organophosphorus lab, sheep dip was based on an organophosphorus compound, we had monthly blood tests to check for exposure.

Are the sheep used for food? Or are the offspring used for sheep?

Seems odd it must not get into human bloodstream but is ok for animals (may have cuts upon them and get into blood stream?)
I am interested, so may even look into farming or farming regularity boards. Farming forums would say it totally safe for sheep and food I am sure.
