As @julians said, no weed restrictions in SP but from reports from friends, they are being particularly hot this year. Not heard if anyone being fined as long as you agree to move when asked. This year, they are moving you if your chain touches the weed. In the islands, the boat will move 360 degrees around the anchor so it is quite difficult to avoid the weed.
Here in SP, we have a really nice French boat next to us. I wish everyone had the same attitude as him. Out of the two of us, we were last in so it is up to us to avoid him. We check our anchor whilst swimming. Both us and our French neighbour have a little extra scope out so we can make small adjustments if necessary.
The biggest problem are the small anchor buoys that some people deploy. Not regarded as a safe thing to do in a tight Anchorage.
You may see from the pics that we are close to the beach end of the Anchorage. Close to the reef. When we swing round to face the West, we actually swing over part of that reef. We have an echo sounder on the RIB so we checked it all carefully last week. Also when I dive down under the boat, whilst holding the rudders over my head, I can't touch the reef with my feet. This kind if anchoring is always a concern though.

we were in portals vells last week, we got there later on, so couldnt find a 100% clear spot, so anchored with the anchor in sand, but with the potential for teh chain to drag across a small patch of weed. Later on in the day the weed police came by and had a word with us, they were very nice and polite about it, almost apologetic, in our case they just asked if we could reduce the chain length by a few meters, they didnt want us to move.

We usually try and find more remote anchorages but the weather on this trip has not been conducive to other places. We started at Camp de Mar but had a rolly polly night due to it being open to the swell and during the night the wind set us sideways onto that swell.
As usual, Santa Ponca has been protected from the wind and swell all week and looks good for the foreseeable future.
At least there are lots of restaurants in SP!!
SWMBO and I are treating ourselves to a couple of nights in Andraitx marina - Wednesday and Thursday. They have a particularly nice swimming pool and club there and, again, lots of restaurants.
We will probably head home to Sant Carles on Friday. Might even make it to the Friday night social evening in SCM.
As usual, Santa Ponca has been protected from the wind and swell all week and looks good for the foreseeable future.

After a week on the hook, we thought we would pamper ourselves and check into Club de Vela, Andraitx. A couple of days by the pool before heading home to SCM
