Sant Carles marina bring in high car parking charges!

Free parking is only the most recent benefit that isn't passed on to the subletter.
For a number of years, we have been offered free nights berthing at 26 other marinas up and down Catalunia.- only available to direct customers.
Holding tank pumo outs are 5 euros for direct customers and 25 euros for subletters which seems to me to be a bad policy.

On the subject of a half decent meal for 2, just thunk about the saving that the subletters are making - that amounts to dozens of really posh meals fir two.

Actually Mike, the free nights policy makes sense as SCM have to pay the other marina for the berth and if SCM aren't getting a mooring fee from the bertholder, why should they subsidise their visits to other marinas when SCM are not getting any revenue direct from the subletter boat owner ???
And, as you know, everyone at SCM can still get pump out free of charge at the dockside. As I understand it, it's only the mobile pumpout service that has now accrued charges, albeit different for between direct MDL bertholders/berth owners & subetters.
And yes, I agree. Difference in mooring fees paid gets you many posh meals!!

Denia and Altea and Alicante are all free as well as Valencia as well.
I HAVE NEVER BEEN CHARGED FOR PARKING AT A MARINA IN SPAIN.

Port Roses. Parking charged from June to September inclusive. 9.7 euros per day, 79.90 per month or 159.80 for the whole four months. Free of charge outside of this period.

Small change compared to the cost of a 20M berth for the year.

We usually manage to negotiate to get a day for free if we stay for more then 24 hours and smile to the ladies in the capitainerie.

The parking is continuously watched - as is the marina. This avoids the worry of leaving the car for two weeks.

It is very convenient being able to park right next to your boat for loading/unloading.

We were in Port Roses for a couple of weeks last summer.
We hired a car for a couple of days and the parking fees were huge.
But we were told to use the car parks at the entrance rather than the ones inside the marina.
Overnight, I think we paid for a car park on the quay in the marina.

There is plenty of free parking - if you are prepared to walk 3/4 of a mile (the French and Spanish don't do that).

But yes, the full rate of parking in the marina is like a central London parking meter!!
