No - before anyone asks - it wasn't taken by me - this was recently posted on our marina forum and I thought it would be interesting to post here.
I suspect that it was a Phantom 3 that took the footage.
It is in need of some serious editing.
However, the clip should be interesting to anyone thinking of moving out here.
As I type, it is 14th April and the weather is already hotting up - the clip was probably taken earlier in March. The weather today is much like the weather in the clip except, today there are no clouds - and it is too hot for me to sit outside.

The clip starts by flying over the 20m and 15m pontoon berths - no prize for picking JW out but can you see Whitelighter's Ferretti.

As the drone turns, you can see the two different styles of berths we have here - the pontoon berths where JW lives and the Med berths with the usual stern to lazy line style of docking.

You can easily see the lagoon just outside the marina entrance.

The drone then flies over the fishing port, the town marina and pans round Sant Carles Town.

Later, as it returns to SCM, you can see the Ebro Delta where all the rice is grown for the Spanish Paella.

The boatyard and the rest of the pontoon berths can be seen in the later parts of the clip.

As I say, not a very artistic production but I think you will agree that it is a really good virtual tour of Sant Carles Marina.

Or here's a link to a full screen clip

Useful Video; image quality was excellent the operator just needed to forget the warp factor pan button, it made me feel like I had been for a night on the beer :p

Nice raw footage but it shows why you have to edit these things. I couldn't endure to watch more than half of that
Yes it felt like phantom 3

I found the website and pleasantly surprised by the price of annual moorings.
Must say the surroundings look a bit bare but the isolation is not such a bad thing.
I am dreaming somewhat - if only the need to keep on working work was not so necessary.

What boating destinations are there out of Sant Carles for a day or a long weekend out ?

It does look a bit bland from the drone, but just a few minutes from the marina you have this:

The town is rather nice, though it is no SoF I rather like it and suits us.

Not done any extensive cruising (yet) but there are plenty of fishing ports and towns with moorings every 10-15 miles down the coast.

And the Balearics are only 100nm away, so 5 hours. Doable in a long weekend I would have thought

A good day's outing is about 7 miles down the coast - a port called Alcanar

and there are lots of restaurants/bars on the quay - most doing "Menu del Dia" for around 10 to 12 euros - usually three or four courses including wine.

Oddly, I have never been to Spain. Hence I am really enjoying this thread. Thanks for posting it.

This year, we are taking it a bit slower.
After a quick run over to the Baldricks in a week or so, we plan to do some mainland Spain cruising this summer.
Probably go north - to Barcelona and then on towards Roses.
I'll post a new thread - could be quite different cruising to our usual thing.

A thread like that should be interesting - not the usual thing.

Might do a late season cruise to Ibiza (from Sant Carles)
I say (from Sant Carles) but what I mean is that we will start there with a couple of weeks spare and then plan to run across to Ibiza once we know the weather conditions.
Instead of worrying about a safe haven of a marina, we would know the weather forecast and "hit it" all on anchor.
At that time of the year, all the Sant Carles yachties are usuall in Ibiza so we would try and meet with them - JW, again trying to be a yachtie by anchoring close in with them.

All very interesting stuff . Please do post pictures and a few words about your travels.
Also I have never been to Spain - but have been to other European countries .
