Posted this on PBO forum but I think electric toilets are more the domain of the motor boater so I'm posting again here.

Interested in real-life experiences with either the Sanimarin SN31 or Tecma 'Easy Fit' electric toilet.

Would be sea-water flush so both would require an inline raw-water pressure pump such as a ParMax as recommended by Leesan for the Sanimarin (which will obviously produce its own distinctive sound which hopefully I could minimise by careful location).

I wonder if the Tecma sea-water pressure pump is quieter than a ParMax which I find noisy on my fresh water system despite being hidden away.

So, as far as the toilet is concerned, I guess I'm looking at general reliability, noise in use (macerator), unforeseen installation problems, availability of spares etc etc.

Leesan stock Sanimarin but I can't (via google) find a UK stockist for the Tecma Easy Fit model (seems mostly USA).

Mobo'ers seem to rate the other larger Tecma toilets quite highly but only the 'Easy Fit' is small enough for my heads.

Just at the appraisal stage at the moment but views/experiences of these particular products would be most welcome.

JFM is our "Heads" guru. He has dismantled and unblocked more than his fair share, and is happy to spread the contents with all! JFM usually recommends Tecma, but I don't think would recommend fresh, not sea water, not least because the bacteria causes some very unpleasant smells. I have Sealand on my boat, and they work very well, albeit the Vac pump is quite noisy.
 
I can't comment. The full size Tecma and the Planus are wonderful products and highly recommended. The tecma easy fit is smaller and has a completely different motor/pump unit, designed post-Thetford acquisition so there is no reason to presume it is good as original Tecma, designed by the Italian team who founded Tecma and Planus
 
We have had a Sanimarin (don't know the model no) for about eight years. It has worked perfectly and has never blocked once - unlike it's predecessor.
One advantage is that it is tapped into the fresh water system so the boat doesn't smell of rotten eggs.

I'm stuck for space and don't have the spare capacity for fresh-water flush. Just musing at the mo.

Sanimarin seem a reasonable 2nd best to Tecma (/Planus) from what I've gleaned on the internet so far.

More input most welcome.

Have you considered Dometic?

Been really happy with them over the past 9 years. We are fresh water flush on current boat, seawater on previous. I don't believe we had a separate sea water pump, think it was all part of the toilet.

Thanks, will look at them - Fox's are a dealer in Ipswich so not too far to go.

I know it's subjective but would you consider them noisy, quiet etc?

Bought a Tecma to replace noisy Jabsco electric conversion toilet. The Tecma has workings below the plinth and as bad luck would have it I had a stretcher right in the way so couldn't complete the project.
Aquamarine gave me a refund but just check the space before you buy.
 
Only the Tecma models with "short" in the title have stuff below the footprint of the plinth. They are designed to be mounted on a stepped up platform , not at floor level.
The normal models designed to be mounted at floor level (without "short" in the title) do not have this issue.
 
Out of interest I think we have tecma, short on a plinth circa 2003 ish -much better than the Sealand vacuum stuff on the Sunseeker we had .
In the crew cabin previous owner bypassed the fresh flush , diconected the 24 V solinoid .bypassed it .
So they been using the bidet tap to fill it .
Does anybody know (JFM ps )where I can get a 24 V water solinoid -so I can reinstate it back to as it should work ?
 
Just google for tecma solenoid valve. Aquafax stock them. About £60. You can fit a generic cheaper valve but I tried and it didn't work as well so I suggest using genuine tecma

Ah yes I remember now. I had to go for the "short" because the Sealine has a GRP seat/cover over the toilet which restricted the toilet height. I guess it's for those who don't like to see a toilet when they enter a toilet room????
