Isn't she great.
SO positive and full of fun. She's definitely that star of this Vendee.
Now heading up the Atlantic for home and probably little idea of how much bigger a star she's become.
What a fantastic role model for any teenager, boy or girl.

She definitely is.
Even the wife's taken a liking to her - and that's saying something.
She never warmed to Elen MacArthur as she blubbed too much /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Fantastic - what a girl!

According to 'The Horn for Sam' (stop giggling at the back) news update on the Vendee site Roxy was knocked down and I guess it was a while after that great video clip as she got closer to the big left turn.

On her site there is a very brief comment on the rounding '40 knots of wind, huge seas, rain, grey... like in the brochure!' I expect she was a bit busy to post more.

She must feel so good climbing back up the Atlantic now.

She is terrific and has rightly made a name for herself in this race but my heart goes out to Dee. She has been fighting to keep her main from shredding for thousands of miles and yet still doesn't sound like a moaning minnie. Her determination to keep racing is just as inspirational for different reasons.

Let's hope they all manage to finish the race in good shape.

1500: 6953.5 miles to finish
1900: 6922.5

4 h : 31.5m

Av speed towards finish = 8kn

Also her course is taking her away from the direct route, so her av SOG will be higher than that.

Hiccup with the numbers I reckon /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Her web site mentions a temporary fix at the end of the boom that needs a proper repair once she is around the Horn.

Indeed, count me in.

I admired Dame Ellen but I admire, like and lust after Sam. But oh her break dancing on the coach roof (apparently untethered ) worried me, hope the team boss is providing her with words of wisdom via email... just make it home Sam.
