Sam Davies is YoTY winner

Sam Davies is this year's winner of the Pantaneus/Yachting Journalists Association Yachtsman of the Year Award. The announcment will no doubt delight the many gentlemen on this site who unashamedly drooled over her during her magnificent Vendee circumnavigation last year. She received the Trophy at a special lunch at Trinity House today.

Special wards were given to Rod Carr, retiring CEO of the RYA for his years of service to Yachting, and Afganistan veteran, Lloyd Hamilton for introducing injured servicement to yachting.

Young Sailors of the Year were 17-year-olds, Phil Sparks and Ben Gratton. they received their awards on Saturday at the Boat Show
