Salthouse Harbour Hotel

We are booked to go sailing for the day on a Thames barge next month from Ipswich Dock. All the info has arrived and they are offering a deal on rooms at the Salthouse Harbour Hotel, I was wondering if anyone here knows it and can suggest whether it is worth staying there for a night or maybe two? It would be nice to make it a weekend rather than just a day trip.

Can't vouch for the quality as I've not been in but it is absolutely on the dock side - for Neptune Marina - quite a trek round if you're leaving from Ipswich Haven - best check...

Never stayed there but have had meals there a few times, very nice food. Last time was on Sat before going to see "We didn't mean to go to sea"

It has a good reputation locally.

Stayed there twice, it has a restaurant but never tried it, (apart from bkfast) rooms excellent and comfortable sort of warehouse style. no bar, you sit in a lounge and waiter comes, so minus point but good boozer next door and the chinese buffet restaurant on the roundabout is excellent (eat as much as you like for £10 its probably gone up now)
