The saga of my saloon table continues, related links at the bottom. I have bought the new legs, cut the base, cut the sub-base with a rounded edge, trimmed the fiddles to the smaller size and checked they will bend, stripped the varnish from them (to make a better finish, not for bending), tested the West epoxy, chosen the Formica, bought a laminate trimming blade, all ready to go...

Then discovered Formica do not have stock of the colour I have chosen (F2296 Sno White) until September :(

Does anyone else make a similar stuff?

Mid Sussex Timbers have a franchise for a laminate formica substitute. Not a lot of choice in the range but it's a start.

Sorry can't remember what the name of the material is right now but their Crowborough Office sourced it for me so may have the name to hand.

Here's two Formica stockists companies that might have what you want:

Wey Plastics Ltd
29 Lydden Road
Wandsworth
SW18 4LT
T: 0208 874 2003

Minimum order one full sheet but offer a cutting and laminating service. Very helpful firm. I bought Formica for our galley from them. They have a very wide range of laminates, not just Formica. Worth visiting their showroom.

CNC Laminates Ltd
2-3 Longfield Road
Spa Industrial Park
Tunbridge Wells
TN2 3EN
01892 539909

Very helpful when I phoned them. Told me they sell offcuts. I would probably have bought from them but Wey Plastics was much nearer to where I live.

Plenty of alternatives to the Formica brand. Yellow pages or google for local worktop laminators who can cut off a roll or sell you an off cut. There are 2 in our area (Poole) and likely to be others in any big conurbation. I matched the Bavaria worktop pattern at a company in Ferndown. Cost all of £5
