Saloon lap shade

We have a bunch of these in situ. I hate them. I'm sure we can come to an arrangement, if you can wait a couple of weeks. It will give added impetus to the "replacing the lights with LED stuff" project that seems to have stalled... (That's an "Executive Decision" being made).

Thanks you very much but I suppose they look good in some settings and fail miserably in others?

The actual removal of the shade is nothing like I have ever seen before. They seem to be built totally integral with the lamp assembly? :(

Look forward to your PM. ;)

Which would be consistent with the previous owner not replacing them! Will have a prod at them on the Great Boat Fettling Week that falls due at the end of this month. If they are detachable I shall let you know!

A chaque-un a son gout n'est ce pas?

Completement!

Given that the interior of our boat can do a passable impression of a Bavarian* bierkeller in bright August sunshine (I imagine, anyway, given that bright August sunshine is in short supply), the lightshades in question don't do much to brighten it up.

*This is not a pun; the boat in question is not a Bavaria. She's a van de Stadt ketch. I refer, instead, to the dark wooden interior that is wall to wall and floor to ceiling.
