I've come across a Salcombe Trader 27 for sale, a lovely-looking gaff-rigged boat with a fibreglass hull. I've searched online and can find very little about them. Does anyone know much about them? Any info or advice is welcome! Thanks

I remember them or at least one, being built. Brian and Nigel built them, both now deceased. Brian fitted out the hulls and Nigel did the woodwork on both the Trader and Tradewind 35s. I went for a test sail in one on a day with little wind. Very well constructed and not too dissimilar to the Heard 28 which I have.
I think that overall the Heard’s are better boats ( I’m biased) but you can’t fault the construction and finish of the Salcombe Trader.
