If its "clear and bright" ie no signs of water ingress there is no real need to change it, but OTOH you don't know how old it is or even if its the correct oil!

Make sure you use the right oil. Sounds obvious but a few people I know (including me) did not bother to check and ended up with oil like egg yolk after adding engine oil
If its a Yanmar I suspect you need EP 80/90 gear oil and you will need to dry her out to drain it.

If it looks OK don't bother changing it, if it's proper gear oil then it will have a distinct sulphery odour to it.

You need to check which drive you have. The majority of the 120 type (with the one piece anode) use engine oil except the 120S-E which uses synthetic gear oil. The 130/150 series (2 piece anode) originally used ATF but in 2011 changed to engine oil with a recommendation to drain and refill older ones that have ATF in them. My 130, made just before the change still has ATF in it and it is still clean so advice from dealer is no need to change it yet. Best changed when boat is out so that you can drain all the old oil out. There is a chart on the Volvo website showing all the drives and oil recommendations.
