Sailorman: missing in action?

Sailorman is rather poorly. I understand from Mrs Sailorman the poor sod had a stroke on Thursday, affecting his left side.
If I get any more information I'll post it.

Did I read that right
S Suffolk have stopped physio treatment in order to pay for Afghan airlift? There doesn't seem to be any connection. Where did you get that story from?

Hi read with disbelief about the Physio being Not Available

Down ere in SW the Rehabilitation Physio can be booked /requested directly with the Occupational Physio deparment either by Phone or by Email ; trust that its similar up there where Sailorman is !

Might be worth someone chasing /checking it up ? for Mr/Mrs Sailorman ? if not interfering

I am on Rehabilitaion Physio ; booked it myself after the GP request seemed to get lost = no problems ; plus well worth the fight to get it ; after just 4 weeks in their Gym I am regaining my lost strength and abilities ; all silly repeating excersises etc etc but well worth the agro and pain ; the Tread Mill resembles those in past years in Prisons , where the Prisoners were made/expected to do a certain number of rotations each day to get their proper food rations ; the Tread Mills had tensioning devices to adjust the tention up or down ; hence the Knick Name Screws for Prison Officers

Glad to hear about the physio. Once I was home from from hospital after my stroke I had 12 weeks of home visits by a team of physios and occuppational therapists. Once that ended, I then had one day a week at my local hospital for exercise sessions watched over by physios etc.

Once that came to an end, I was able to get referred to a local gym for supervised sessions, which although I did have to pay, the fee was subsidised by the county council.

Stay positive... I'm sure you're determined to get as well as possible. A good proportion of stroke survivors give up and make no effort to improve, and I admit at times I could have too.

Best wishes!

Just heard from Roger - he asked me to share the following:

Had a good physio assessment today.
He was assisted to stand up from his reclining chair and managed to stand unaided.
For the first time in quite a while.
Plus, from now on, he will have two physio sessions per week.
So it looks like life will get better from now on.

Heres hoping for a good recovery
