I know there's a holding tank pump out station at RHYC but...

Can anyone use it?
If so is there a charge?
Are there any more on the East Coast or is that it?

I'd prefer to pump out wherever possible but the infrastructure doesn't seem very well developed compared to the US East Coast, for example.

Thanks, thought so - used to cost us between $5-10 in the US so comparable.

After a bit more digging on t'internet I found this very useful guide from Lee San:

UK pump-out locations charts

For the East Coast they provide this:

East Coast pump-out stations chart

Interestingly RHYC is not mentioned and nothing in Essex so don't know how up to date it is.

They have a UK list which is perhaps more useful if it is accurate:

UK Pump-out list

Not sure if anyone else but me is interested in this but if there are other pump-out station anoraks out there who have more information I'd be grateful - call us fussy but we really don't like dumping it in the sea close in.

I fairly sure Woolverstone marina does not have a pump out station so maybe two have somehow got confused on the websites. (Last weekend I did see one boat try to berth in the RHYC marina thinking it was the MDL one)

Unless Blackwater marina has been seriously improved since my last stay there I very much doubt is has a pump out station.

According to the marina guide that came with my copy of Reeds Gillingham Marina has a pump out station but I have never been in there so cannot confirm.

That's for a berth - the £5 mentioned was for pumping out a holding tank.

RHYC are pretty generous when it comes to short term use of their pontoons by visitors, if you stay an hour or two they don't seem to be fussed about charging you, at least in my experience.
