Try Antonio e-mail fofovelas@sapo.pt We used him last year, can't find his card withhis phone number but he is in Lagos and we found him through Sopromar (the yard in Lagos).

Try fofovelas@sapo.pt for Antonio Viegas of Fofevalas the sailmaker/rigger in Lagos. Tel +351 917 550 960. I have used him for rigging and sail repair/washing etc but not for the production of a new sail. However, he is generally held in high regard locally by cruisers and local racers. I think that he is ex Portugal Olympic sail team. If he does any work for you he will want a large deposit at the time of the order, approx 50% but his prices are very good and he delivers on time.

As others have said - Antonio is your man - even Bluewater only pass on jobs to him.

I'd also agree Antonio does good work for even better prices - but as the only guy in town he is always seriously overloaded - and rarely able to keep to delivery promises.

I'd simply add a couple of weeks to whatever delivery date he gives you.

I've seen some of his work on covers, biminies etc and its ok. Not seen anything on sails yet but inn conversation (before I knew what he did or that I wanted some work done) he said he worked for Hood and Crusader sails.

I endorse Joanne of Vilamoura. In fact I have just taken down the Yankee that she made for us 8 years ago. It's still in superb condition, just need to renew the stitching on the UV strip.

She made our staysail still in superb condition and various canvas items such as a wheel cover, sprayhood etc.

Just don't ask for any interior stuff, that's not her forte!
