I would like to have sail mail running on my MAC. The corollary: I do not want to get a Windoze computer or OS.

I have Parallels which should run the installation software but I am unable to see where the files went or install the software.

Can anyone take me step by step through the process? If you managed, let me know.

TA as always.

Parallels still requires you to have installed Windows (into a virtual machine)
Have you already done this?

Believe it or not, I have Windows 10 installed ... still cannot figure where it went...

What is a virtual machine? (Sorry, I signed off MS not to be bothered with stuff I do not care much about.) I will make an effort given your obvious knowledgeable assistance. I could call you tomorrow if you wish... send me your phone number via PM plse.

Thank you

I'm happy to give you some hints and tips, but I don't really have capacity to walk you through it step-by-step.

Parallels creates virtual machines. A virtual machine is a pretend computer running Windows inside the Parallels software. Most virtual machine software gives you the choice of running in windowed or seamless mode; in seamless mode, it might look like the program is running on the Mac, but actually it's still running on the pretend computer. It's much more obvious that this is happening when using windowed mode because you will see the desktop and start menu of the Windows machine.

I would suggest running the virtual machine in windowed mode so that you can see the Windows desktop. You should be able to see the SailMail software in the Programs menu. Once you've got it working there, you can think about trying to get it running in seamless mode (or just stick to running it in windowed mode). Have you ever used SailMail on a Windows machine?

Another alternative would be to pick up a cheap netbook with Windows, just for SailMail.
