How do you get the google earth images onto the video?


In the early videos I used a screen grabber to record what was on the screen - there is a free one called snag it - choose some google earth places, ask the machine to tour from one to the other

then get snag it to record the screen

or.... the better way is to buy a google earth pro license - think its about $400 and then it comes with a device that records the tour one frame at a time in High definition

then you have to turn that movie into something your video editor can read

Ps - for ubergeekian the "woman" is my daughter - and I think you could do with chilling just a little - I am sure you don't mean it but you do come across as being quite aggressive. But thanks for watching right to the end.

I assume you sail somewhere on the Uk coast - so I will get to you eventually

then some other swmbo will want to know why they don't sail where you do

having said that.... there is something special about the east coast and I have sailed there all my life so I am slightly biased

Frankly you need to think much more carefully before posting in such a hostile tone. I think Dylan's response was typically polite and understated.

Sorry, it wasn't supposed to be aggressive. It was supposed to be tongue in cheek. You were, after all, accusing a author of dishonesty for failing to spell out the identity of crew members, so it seemed a little ironic that you did the same.

The irony, to me, is that Dylan and Ransome (in Racundra's First Cruise) are describing a rather similar approach to sailing - the gentle bimble with a keen interest in the landscapes and people encountered. That's how I like to do it too, which is why I find both their works interesting.

Hope you haven't been discouraged bu Ubergeekian's posts, the vast majority of people seem to find your videos excellent, whether or not they are ransomites!
