Hi Fellow sailors,

I am trying to plan a passage from Sardinia to Malaga end of November on our Dufour 36 Classic and I was wondering for any tips or info around weather and passage planning.

What is the weather like during this month?

Is it the right timing and are weather windows available during this period?

Knowing dominant winds are SW, NW and NE what would your recommend as the right wind direction to sail with?

Looking forward to your answers and thank you for thinking with me!

All the best,
SV Titti

We sailed around the Spanish coast and out the Balearics and back through November and December with just one well forecast storm in that time which meant hiding in a a marina in San Antonio for a day . You'll have to take it day by day and keep a good eye on the weather (we found Meteo France was the best in that area but things change ) but the only long passage is Sardina to say Menorca then its day hops between the islands and to the coast of Spain . You have plenty of secure anchorages for any direction through the Balearics though the north coast of Mallorca is a bit open so choose you route well.

Oh, and right now the water will still be lovely to swim in :)
