Hello.
Has anybody ever sailed to Lebanon and in particular to Jounie?
Does a European Union citizen need a visa? Do you get it from there on arrival? How about the marina, does it offer any facilities? Any natural shelters around there in case of strong winds until able to get into the marina?
Any comments will be very welcome.
Thanks

Lebanon has relaxed the rules on visas, so as a UK citizen, you don't need one when flying in. Best to check with British consulate for boat entry.

The ATCL marina in jounieh has lots of facilities. The standard stuff, diesel water, electrics, haul out and hardstanding facilities. Not sure about the yard work though. The marina is actually a club so you also get swimming pools, tennis courts, restaurants etc. I really like the place. Lebanon is not well endowed with natural storm shelter, but also it rarely gets bad weather (almost never in summer). I can't really think of any conditions in which you can't get into the ATCL marina, however others can be dangerous at times.
