Im planing to sail my UK registered boat from Ramsgate to Calais and staying for a day or two before sailing home to UK.
I have dual nationality with UK and German passports
I am clear about the need to submit the UK Border Force form and French customs form and have all the right documents … But do I need to make the trip from marina to the ferry terminal to get my German passport stamped?

I believe not.

I showed my Irish passport to the on-site (there specially for race competitors) French customs officers in Cherbourg after finishing the Fastnet.

They waved me away - nothing needed doing.

Others may have different experiences, however.

You don’t need to visit. Two friends with an Irish passport accompanied me to the frontier police in Calais last year and were told there’s no need to show up no matter where their journey started from.
