ok, they sent out a lead boat to go up to Anegada on xmas eve Doesnt seem to hard to me to get in, but if there's a lead boat, what the heck we'll g with them. We meet and the lead boat says it is dead easy 10derees magnetic off we go, 15 miles tops. He also says he is on a benetea 46 foter and anyone fancy a challenge? How ridiculous. If ten boats set off in the same direction, its always a race innit?

By 9am the next mring i have drained the tanks, stowed the outboard, hoiked the rib tender up onto the fredeck with a halyard, and we are pelting fff to the frnt row, stop, allgather, vhf comes thru to say ff we go, and we wham thhe sails up and zoom ahead. Hooray. But then one bat, the blimmin lead boat came up on us. Our speed is nly 5knots not 8+ as i fail to spot the wind shift. But as the lead boat comes past at the last minute it is a 52 foter the fibber and he has his engine on as well. Git. Wish i has thought of that....
