I've downloaded a 1331 and edited it to include my boat and personal information then printed off a few copies.
Hopefully things will have changed to online reporting for when we can finally go.

I have done the same thing (y) . Spent this morning looking at my Hull Identification Numbers, with a magnifying glass, trying to make them out - never been asked for them before.

Given the situation with the Chinese Flu, I fully intend to visit France this season, if at all possible.

There is a site in beta at the moment link below

Submit a pleasure craft report
I tried to use it, giving likely date of my trip (post lockdown). Longwinded, unclear and repetitive as per all bureaucracy, but worse, when I submitted it I got no email acknowledgement and when I tried to login it had not saved, so could not review or amend

Beta is broken.

Is there any practical reason why you can't post the form back to the UK on arrival in France?

Will they really care what stamp is on the envelope?

It's a giveaway that you didn't do what you were supposed to and post it before you left the UK* :)
But do they actually care about C1331 at all or was it so little used that they didn't bother and with a new electronic system on the cards are they likely to start checking them?

Post is an unreliable communications medium. Has anyone here ever given their details on arrival to border force through national yachtline then forgotten to post C1331 and if so did they ever chase you up to find out what happened to to your C1331 part 2? I would be willing to wager that if anyone were to 'fess up to the former parts the answer would be "no".

*Whilst "post before you go" is the advice on the rya web site and obviously the intention from the fact that you're supposed to submit another form with "voyage abandoned" if your voyage is abandoned, the actual wording on the C1331 says "complete before you go and post to..." so for the logicians in the house there's an obvious defence...

I suppose we could have a “Common Travel Area” similar to the arrangement the current UK has with the RoI. I suspect though that the current sentiment in the country would prefer Schengen though. I would.
If NI still exists when Scotland goes independent than yes, I think a common travel area is likely. However, it seems likely that Irish reunification will happen first, in which case I strong suspect that Ireland will find Schengen a more attractive prospect than whatever remains of the UK. On the whole I think a Scotland/England CTA is most likely, but Schengen membership, like the Euro, may well be needed for our fast-track re-entry into the EU.

A bit off-topic, but certainly worth thinking about for boats. nevertheless, I think YM will be able to go on discovering Scotland every three issues for a while yet.

need to translate that for me, I think he was before my time and whats a reverse ferret?
"Reverse ferret" is a term often used in Private Eye to mean that a publication has reversed its position on something. For example, the Daily Mail coming out in favour of immigration would be a reverse ferret. There is an explanation at Reverse ferret - Wikipedia.
