Sailing on Youtube without palm trees!

I found Erik's videos recently too, he has the best cinematography to any sailing video, after watching his videos and then looking at other sailing videos its like going from HD back to analogue black and white filmed with a potato nonsense and rigid tripod position complete with incessant dreadful music or bad wind noise.

i dont find him full on, as soon as you said a Contessa 35 i knew who you were talking about, im a subscriber and can't wait to see more of his videos

I wish they're were more like him on youtube because 9/10 sailing videos are awful

Also been following him for a while. Also think he is the best out there at the moment- also thing 9/10 youtube sailing videos are awful!

Me too, the whole "we've sold our house and are off in search of adventure" thing gets dull very quickly. They're also pretty short of adventure! I'm finding Eric's movies much more real, and I can associate with the steely grey water! :-)

Great photography a nice boat pity he doesn't do something about the forepeak leak it will quickly ruin the boat. Whilst he seems to revel in the elements he would be well advised to get some proper jackstays clipping on to halyards or reefing lines at the base of the mast only secured around a winch is asking for it.

His videos are interesting but I also enjoy watching those of the young people who live aboard and sail the world. Often without much experience or knowledge (at first), but bags of enthusiasm and confidence.

Erik's stuff is great. Very well produced.

As for the other videos out there - if only people would resist the temptation to put irritating music tracks on their videos! I watch most with the sound on mute. Would rather just hear the water...

Love the stuff, La Vaga need to get back on their game, Delos upped theirs with the south african expert boys and it shows plus they are up to $11k an episode having overtaken La Vaga. Still prefer watching the action shots of the cute Eleyna though! Barry Perrins is good as well. Interesting that Rick Moore, Sophisticated Lady, is quoted by Delos as being their inspiration! His movies can be good but are so disjointed, technically good. There are some truly awful people on there, some of the Muricains are quite awful in promoting their wives/girlfriends bits! Miss Lone Star seems to be getting her act together with the rebuild of her dollar boat. For those who dont know her, Google Aubrey Wilson Playboy.
