sailing on windermere HELP

This ticks most of the requirements, 5 berth not 6 though, standing headroom, interesting to sail and certainly within budget. lifting keels mean you can easily beach for fun ashore.

thanks lakesailer ,aquaplane,claymore,twister-ken,ect had a really good look round the lake and there was not much for sale that would suit us for the money i could squeeze out the bosses purse ,so we looked away from the lake as advised and to be honest what good advise (thanks Aquaplane) we found as long as you allow for dick turpin charging you for transport then find an honest person it works out well ,we ended up going for a trapper 400 , just over 28ft ,that has spent most of her time at sea and been very well looked after and maintained , it ticks all our boxes with head room , space inside ,plenty of space out the back and deck and quite a straight forward boat even we can understand what most of it does its got a nice little inboard that i can maintain no problem and will chug us about the lake untill i get my captains hat and learn what those lines and sails are actually for where we are moored we can come off our swinging mooring and we have a great nice deep jetty that will take the fin keel the little we know about sailing boats it fits us ,and really looking forward to our first season on sail (well putt putt for now ) has any one had or has got a trapper, anything i should look out for and how good a yacht are they on the lake agaun thanks for all the input cheers kenny

Ah, but if our experiences on Windermere are anything to go by, you'll find that on a nice weekend, every space round a jetty that's deep enough to take your keel will be taken up by a little mobo drawing 6" of water!

Little boats with shallow draught do move up the pontoon to allow deper draught boats in, some even moor at the shallow end in the first place, I have to admit it's not very common though.

really good where we are private jetty its really quiet never anyone around
