With blustery winds forecast we settled for charging around the bay for an hour followed by the exotic delights of Mermaid Quay pontoons.

spent a bit of time teaching the kids how to drink and gamble before another charge around the bay.

Tony turned up with Vega going well with a double reefed main.

Family look to be enjoying themselves. How was the sailing?

Was hoping to get out for a few hours today but apparently still gusting 35+ so still waiting for a gentle day to shake out the sails.

Nice one Graham.

I'm well jealous. I'm on call this weekend and as as it was my birthday on Friday, Bev's family bought me a load of beer and cider - but I can't drink any 'til Monday!! Arrrgggghhhh!! It's torture. The boat's "in dock" until the alternators fixed anyway. I like your pictures too. I love looking in other people's boats.

Hey! We could upload pictures onto the forum and do a "Through The Keyhole" thing - except the forum nondeplume gives away who's boat it is. Back to the mind numbing tv programmes on today. Bev's watching big Brother. I'd rather watch one of Kaiser's droppings steam! (Polite version of what I'd normally say!)

Take care all,

Lizzy D

PS If I get a call today, I'll take some pictures and share my shouts with you.

Hi Doug it was similar to today not a huge amount of wind generally but the odd gust to put the windows in the water. Had a sail out on the channel with Tony on Vega today with 2 reefs in the main and a small jib we were underpowered in the lulls then overpowered in the gusts.

The Vega is a remarkable little boat ,even against the tide and a bit of a chop she made her way to windward no problem.

Very naughty having the forum burgee down below!

I wondered if anyone would notice that.I put it up later so do I still have to go to the naughty mooring? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

We went out this morning. 6.1 knots according to the GPS. Then Louise noticed that we were awash with diesel down below. Seems we had a leak. Spent the rest of the day cleaning the boat. Oh the joys of sailing......

The yoof is certainly eyeing up that glass of wine - and do you normally keep the bog roll on the saloon table? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
